Advice...

Just wondering if there is anyone out there that has switched to Beta Blogger that wishes that they hadn't.

Every time I sign on, I am asked if I want to switch and each time I ignore the request.

I would like some feedback if anyone is willing to give it on the pros and cons of Beta...

The thing that scares me the most is that once you switch, you can't go back.

Your insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I do understand the bugs of the new version are getting worked out. It was a reported nightmare at first.

I am hanging onto my old version until dragged to the switching post ;0)

We will all be switched over eventually...like it or not is my understanding.

DO NOT CAVE IN TO BETA! I switched and I SOOOOO regret it. Hang on to the old one as long as you can. The blogger help groups are crammed with problems and NO ONE at Blogger is answering any questions. Can you tell I'm a little peeved with blogger?

okay, the thing I hate is when I type in a comment and I haven't signed on yet, then I put in my login and it erases my comment! Very annoying! hence the anon post!)

I have to go against the flow and say I love Beta!!
Its ok as long as you log into your blog first.I love the freedom of the new blog.I can add things and do so much more-change colours on my template-its great.
I can do things I couldn't do on my old blog.

Other than what Drea mentions, I have had no problems at all. When you switch, you need to upgrade your template in order to use the new drop and drag functions. I haven't done that yet, because I'm dreading getting my custom header into the new template. But I can get help for that!

Good question! I trust Connie and Kathy (our resident blogger experts) so based on what I learned here I'm staying when I am until dragged over kicking and screaming!

Thanks for asking. I'd wondered too but never thought of asking on my blog...duh! ;o)

I'm with you Connie. I'm hanging onto until the very last minute. It took me a long time to figure out this blogging thing and setting up my template etc. I'm not going to give up without a fight.

Whew! I didn't realize I was that intense about my blog.

Thanks for asking Michelle, I was wondering as well if it was better to switch. I guess I'll wait until I have to.

Connie is my resident computer expert and technical support when I have problems cuz I'm completely computer illiterate. She set up the template on my blog for me. And SHE told me not to switch. I trust her so I'm not.

After reading the feedback, I'll wait too!

I wouldn't switch, either. Blogger Beta sucks! Although it is getting better lately. You still have to sign in every time, which is a pain, and usually I just sign anonymous so it doesn't take sooooo long! I would wait too.

I had LOADS of problems with it so if I were you I wouldn't rush!!!
But the rosie's advise is good, you have to sign in first otherwise it is a mess!
Yes Michelle I have LOADS of blogs and comments to catch up on!! lol

I switched and have had no problems, thus far.
As long as I sign into my blog first, it seems to be okay.

I was one of the ones to switch early. I read about a few of the new features and I was sucked in (although I must say I love the new features, I really do). Well, once I switched, that's when the poo hit the fan and I had all sorts of trouble. Everything seems to be worked out no, with the exception of the fact that in my dashboard under the digging a hole blog, it says I have 4 comments that need to be moderated: but there are NONE!!! So, when I get 3 comments, it says I have 7, I post those three in there and it still says I have 4.

After searching everywhere on the Blogger site, I finally found someone to email about this problem and I never heard back... not even once after 5 emails.

Sooooo... hang on tight until they force you over themselves!!!!!!

I switched to beta at the very beginning and it was a pain in the butt . . . however, they've made a lot of improvements and it's no problem now.
